Commissioning Engineer
Location: Pueblo, CO (onsite)
Reports To: Mission Infrastructure Engineering Manager
Type: Contract to hire
Travel: Up to 15%
Overview
Mid level engineer (3 to 5 years) supporting commissioning of new energetics facilities and infrastructure, from design review through functional testing and handoff to operations. Heavy on site presence during construction.
What You Will Do
Contribute to commissioning plans, test scripts, and acceptance criteria
Participate in design and construction phase reviews
Witness critical installs on site, verify to spec, and track punch lists to closure
Run pre functional and functional testing across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, utility, and process control systems
Troubleshoot alongside contractors, vendors, and controls engineers
Maintain commissioning records and support O&M training and handoff
Must Haves
BS in ME, EE, ChemE or related with 3+ years in commissioning, systems verification, or construction (or 7+ years hands on without a degree)
Startup or systems testing in an industrial, construction, or manufacturing setting
Read drawings, P&IDs, equipment specs, and contractor submittals
Punch list generation, tracking, and closure
Nice to Haves
Commissioning energetics, solid rocket motor, or other hazardous facilities under ATF or DoD oversight
PLC/SCADA commissioning and integration testing of automated equipment
Requirements
Onsite role. Remote is not an option.
US Person required for ITAR (US Citizen or Green Card holder)
Must be 21 or older and eligible for state and federal explosives licenses
Drug free workplace and background investigation
Able to lift 50 lbs and work on a manufacturing floor in PPE

Posted FTE base: $85K to $110K
Reports to Mission Infrastructure, not the PTD group. Confirm who screens this one.
