Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Onsite; telecommute and teleworking are not available
Contract: Through the end of 2026, with expected continuation into 2027 pending milestone success

End product:
- Support development of a propulsion system through Critical Design Review (CDR).
Tech / domain environment:
- Support two programs and the lead systems engineer, with the ability to assume the lead systems engineer role as needed.
- Work within the Propulsion Systems and Controls Business Unit.
- Work 1st Shift (9/80A), 8am-5pm.
- No travel.
Job duties:
- Provide technical leadership and coordination between engineering disciplines, program management, and external stakeholders.
- Produce and maintain requirements specifications, ICDs, V&V matrices, risk registers, and verification technical reports.
- Define and maintain a requirements decomposition strategy across subsystems and disciplines.
- Perform requirements change impact analysis based on CCN’s and design configurations.
- Lead requirements reviews and PDR/CDR-level artifacts for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and testability.
- Lead Risk and Opportunity meetings for technical and programmatic teams.
- Develop verification plans mapping each requirement to verification methods and responsible owners.
- Support creation of WBS and technical schedules based on systems engineering activities.
Must haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
- Systems engineering experience on technical programs involving requirements, design, integration, or test.
- Experience developing and managing requirements, including writing clear, testable requirements and maintaining a requirements baseline.
- Experience establishing and maintaining requirements traceability between stakeholder needs, system requirements, lower-level requirements, design, and test.
- Experience supporting or leading SRR, PDR, CDR, or equivalent design/requirements reviews.
- Experience running formal Risk Review Boards.
- Experience developing or contributing to V&V plans that map requirements to test, analysis, inspection, or demonstration.
- Experience performing requirements change impact analysis.
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve requirements and design issues.
- Experience with at least one requirements management tool, such as DOORS, Jama, JIRA, or similar.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, including identifying risks/issues and proposing mitigations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting technical information and presenting to stakeholders.
Nice to haves:
- Experience on U.S. Air Force, Navy, strategic deterrence, or related weapon system programs.
- Hands-on manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with the DoD Contracting process.
- Experience re-designing to legacy system standards and requirements.
- Experience with solid rocket motors, propulsion systems, or related energetic systems, including performance, environments, or testing methods.
- Experience developing and executing subsystem-level V&V plans, including test requirements, test procedures, data review, and FMEAs.
- Familiarity with MBSE and SysML using Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar tools, and integrating models with requirements such as DOORS.
- Experience with Siemens Teamcenter or similar PLM/configuration management tools.
- Experience coordinating and developing CDRLs and other contract deliverables.
