About the Role
Title: Electrical Design Verification Test Engineer
Headcount: 1-2 near term (up to 10 over the next six months)
Location: Costa Mesa, CA; Hybrid; 2–4 weeks on-site onboarding cadence, then hybrid approach
Contract: 6 months+; Start: ASAP
Interview Process: Initial technical screen, stakeholder interview; Feedback SLA: Ad-hoc

End Product:
- Prototype PCBAs and digital boards requiring board bring-up, DVT, and integration testing.
Tech/Domain Environment:
- Altium Designer for schematics and layout navigation
- SPI, I2C, RS422, CAN, and Ethernet communication protocols
- Buck, boost, and LDO power conversion topologies
- Standard lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators)
Job Duties:
- Bring prototype and revised PCBAs from bare board to fully functional
- Review schematics and layouts in Altium Designer
- Execute DVT campaigns covering power sequencing, signal integrity, and interfaces
- Troubleshoot anomalies and isolate circuit issues
- Build test cables, hand-solder modifications, and design simple test fixtures
- Document test procedures, results, and anomaly reports
Must Haves:
- 5–8 years of experience in electrical test, hardware bring-up, or design verification in a product development environment
- Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic navigation
- Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators
- Practical knowledge of power conversion topologies and analog signal conditioning
- Board-level knowledge of communication protocols including SPI, I2C, RS422, CAN, and Ethernet
Nice to Haves:
- MSEE
- Full design ownership capability
Disqualifiers:
- Purely academic or POC exposure without hands-on lab bring-up experience
- Candidates requiring 100% remote work with no willingness to come on-site for onboarding
