About the Role
Title: Mechanical Engineer, Expeditionary Systems
Headcount: 2 to 3 contractors
Location: Costa Mesa, CA; Hybrid with on-site ramp-up required for initial weeks
Contract: 6 month+ conversion possible; Start: ASAP, targeting onboarding in approximately three to four weeks
Interview Process: 30 to 45 minute Teams interview with hiring manager and potential direct manager covering resume focus and problem-solving; Feedback SLA: Weekly
Why Hiring:
- Workforce increase needed to support newly landing projects in Anduril Expeditionary Systems due to a shortage of internal manpower.
End Product:
- Large-form-factor compute and launch-effects programs for Anduril Expeditionary Systems.

- Sheet metal and welding manufacturing methods

Job Duties:
- Perform 2D drawing updates
- Design new parts
- Apply sheet-metal and welding manufacturing methods
- Integrate electronics into mechanical systems
Must Haves:
- 4–8 years of mechanical engineering experience
- Hands-on proficiency with Siemens NX with zero training or ramp-up required
- Mechanical engineering generalist experience with large-form-factor compute or launch-effects programs
- Hands-on sheet-metal and welding experience
- Experience integrating electronics into mechanical systems
- Ability to take ownership and determine the best approach to open-ended problems using first principles
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in smaller startups
- Experience with sheet-metal weldments
- Experience with large-form-factor compute programs
- Experience with launch or launch-effects type programs
- Ability to be effective right away
Disqualifiers:
- Requires training or ramp-up on Siemens NX during the contract
