Title: Controls Engineer
Headcount: 1
Location: Austin, Texas (Remote to start, moving onsite)
Contract: Contract-to-hire; Start: ASAP

Job Duties:
- Initiate instrument datasheets and RFQ packages and perform technical bid evaluations to procure controls devices.
- Review vendor and contractor designs against Tesla quality and documentation standards.
- Work closely with HMI developers and programmers to optimize data exchange and enhance system usability.
- Support the Construction team and contractors in executing scopes of work.
Must Haves:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Controls Engineer, Instrumentation Engineer, or Applications Engineer working on automation and/or electromechanical systems.
- Controls systems experience in design, commissioning, startup, or programming.
- Ability to review mechanical, process, and plumbing drawings to size and select flow, pressure, and temperature sensors.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Configuration of controls networks using Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Serial Communication.
- Knowledge of industrial process and manufacturing equipment, including safety system.
- Proficiency in Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Beckhoff.
- Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical).
Nice to Haves:
- Experience designing, commissioning, starting up, or programming controls systems.
Disqualifiers:
- Lack of required engineering degree or core hands-on controls experience.
