Typical Day in the Role
- Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is Silicon Semi-conductor AI Project.
- Key projects: We are looking for Validation Engineer to work in the dynamic Microsoft Artificial Intelligence (AI) Silicon Engineering team. The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter who will thrive in this cutting-edge technical environment. Candidate will be responsible for Post Silicon Validation, debug, tools development as well as Systems Level Testing. It involves driving system team enablement and product deployment in data center at scale.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 80% hands on lab work, 10% meetings, 10% collab.

Candidate Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: 4+ overall years of experience in the field.
- Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's degree in engineering required. 4+ years’ experience required.
- Disqualifiers: Candidates without hands on lab experience and experience with DDR validation will not be eligible for the role.
- Best vs. Average: MSFT experience nice to have. Experience with domain, experience with programming language, and experience in a lab.
- Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on how they meet deadlines and quality of work, task/timeline accuracy, team feedback.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work on key components of functional validation of complex ASIC SOC and FPGA SOC
- Perform Post-Silicon/FPGA validation by defining testing strategies
- Develop Test plan, C tests and infrastructure to complete functional validation of complex design and report bug/issues
- Running tests, debugging failures, creating stress and performance scenarios to meet test plan goals
- Develop tools for hardware testing, data collection, work with third party equipment and boards.
- Innovate to improve validation efficiency through methodologies and tools
Skills:
- Hands on experience with C/C++, Python, Perl, Powershell
- Familiarity with boards, components, memories, industry standard interfaces like I2C, JTAG, UART.
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Basic knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
